Receiving Associate Multiple Shifts Available

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for receiving all incoming material and getting that material to the stocking shelves. This position is responsible for keeping the forward picking shelves sufficiently stocked in order to allow efficient part picking. This position is responsible for the location integrity as well as organization of all inventories.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Time management. Due to the variable work load of the duties of this position good time management skills are essential. Also must coordinate getting additional resources when work load requires.
  2. Material receiving from truck unloading, checking material in, to put away. May also include bringing materials to packaging or inspection (as needed) before material put away.
  3. Inventory control functions to include:
  • Forward shelf replenishment to support efficient picking.
  • In conjunction with the picking function, responsible for the condition, organization and cleanliness of the inventory and picking shelves.
  • Overstock location control and records.
  • Overstock location auditing to assure integrity in the inventory control system.
  • Responsible to keep inventory as compact as possible.
  • Requires periodic resizing and re-slotting of forward pick locations
  • Responsible for cycle counting inventory.
  • Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of work area.
  • Pick and coordinate subcontracted work with subcontractors.
  1. Must be knowledgeable in stock receiving process to include packing slip check off, damaged freight claims, and box labeling.
  2. Must be knowledgeable in inventory control management to include stock put away, overstock location control, and forward pick shelf replenishment and overall stock control.
  3. Coordinate with other departments.


Education and Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

6 months+ experience preferred.

Must have the ability to operate a fork truck.

Experience with a fork truck preferred.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk on level surfaces for a prolonged period; 95% of the day. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms above shoulder height and below the waist. The employee should be able to lift 10-20lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
